Diversity Survey – Diversity is an essential element in achieving academic excellence. By understanding the makeup of our Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso family, leadership is able to enhance each student, patient, and employee’s experience. The TTUHSC El Paso Office of Diversity’s Annual Diversity Survey provides valuable information that is useful for strategic planning and during the accreditation process. I encourage each of you to take a few minutes to complete the survey by Monday, March 16. It can be accessed at https://elpasottuhsc.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_dhuPLoKWQF6WfYh.
New Appointee – I am pleased to announce TTUHSC El Paso’s new Senior Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) – Teresa Almengor. Terry comes to TTUHSC El Paso with over 22 years of experience in a variety of grants management roles – fourteen of those years in an Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP). She will play an important role in the future growth of our university. Learn more about Terry in this week’s Tech View blog.
Make A Difference Award – Congratulations to Maryann Dennis from the Department of Medical Education on being awarded the “You Make a Difference” Quarterly Employee Award. Read this week’s Tech View blog to learn how Maryann made a difference.
Spring Break – Next week, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing students have all, or portions, of the week off for Spring Break. Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences students are attending Student Research Week with their colleagues in Lubbock. As for TTUHSC El Paso faculty and staff – a spring holiday awaits us! All schools and medical offices will be closed next Friday, March 13. Whatever the weather brings – sun, rain or snow – time away to relax and reflect is a good thing. Enjoy!
