The third Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Commencement and Convocation Ceremony was held at the Plaza Theatre on Friday, May 15.
The keynote speaker was TTUHSC El Paso President Richard Lange, M.D., M.B.A.
There were 73 graduates and two winners of the Gold-Headed Cane Award. The Gold-Headed Cane Award is a longstanding tradition in medicine. The recipient of the Gold-Headed Cane Award is selected jointly by students and faculty as the individual who best exemplifies those attributes that are most desirable in the competent and caring physician. Winners of the Gold-Headed Cane Award were Jay Matthew Jackson, and MariCarmen Stout Shields.
