Paul L. Foster School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony

Paul L. Foster School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine held a White Coat Ceremony for 104 new medical students. At this momentous ceremony, the Class of 2019 received their first white coats – symbols of their chosen profession. Twenty-four of the students are from El Paso.

The White Coat ceremony is designed to clarify for students, prior to their entrance into the medical community, that a physician’s responsibility is to both take care of patients and to care for patients. Students at Saturday’s event were officially welcomed by faculty and staff, the El Paso community, and fellow medical students.
