On the fourth anniversary of Giving Tuesday, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) is encouraging its students, faculty, staff, medical residents, as well as the El Paso community to think about philanthropy and what it means to them.
“Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that allows us the opportunity to embrace the spirit of generosity,” said TTUHSC El Paso Assistant Vice Chancellor Victoria Pineda. “It is not about the amount given, but about the level of engagement. The movement started in 2012 and through social media has expanded to 68 countries. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, give to your favorite organization, post it to your social media and encourage everyone else to participate.”
Giving Tuesday typically marks the start of the charitable season. At TTUHSC El Paso, all funds donated during this 24-hour period will go to the TTUHSC El Paso Scholarship Fund for Excellence and will fund student scholarships.
