Medical Student Presents at American Society of Microbiology Meeting

Bethany Beauchamp, a second-year Paul L. Foster SOM student, recently presented her poster abstract “CCR5 Gene and Promoter Polymorphism in HIV Infected Hispanic Population” at an American Society for Microbiology meeting at UTEP.  Dr Himanshu Garg, Ph.D., from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, initiated this research in collaboration with Internal Medicine Chair Debabrata Mukherjee, M.D., Ogechika Alozie, M.D., and Armando Meza, M.D.  Bethany Beauchamp became involved with the project while attending her Scholarly Activity and Research Project (SARP) class.
