TTUHSC Paul L. Foster School of Medicine students involved in the Texas Medical Association student chapter, hosted a Brown Bag Lunch for Senator José Rodríguez, where he shared his perspective on health policy and health economics.
Senator Rodríguez represents Texas Senate District 29, which includes the counties of El Paso, Hudspeth, Culberson, Jeff Davis, and Presidio. He represents both urban and rural constituencies, and more than 350 miles of the Texas-Mexico border. Senator Rodríguez was elected to the Texas Senate in 2010 and has served in two Regular Sessions as well as several Special Sessions. His advocacy for access to health care and education as keys to equal opportunity is informed by a lifetime of hard work, whether in the fields as a young migrant worker, the courts or the Senate floor.
