On Saturday, El Pasoans showed their support for the Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso (TTP El Paso) Breast Care Center, raising at least $33,000 in the name of breast cancer awareness.
Community members gathered for brunch, champagne and trivia at Bubbles & Brunch, a first-of-a-kind fundraiser hosted by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso). The sold-out event celebrated breast cancer survivors and inspired hope for those currently battling the disease, all while raising awareness about the extraordinary work being done at the TTP El Paso Breast Care Center.
“Philanthropy is at the core of everything we do at TTUHSC El Paso and it’s critical that we support one of the community resources designed specifically for women and men of our region,” TTUHSC El Paso Associate Vice Chancellor Victoria Pineda said. “This center provides world-class care to women who wouldn’t otherwise have access to treatment for a variety of different conditions — this is why it is so important.”
Event attendees had a first-hand opportunity to hear from former patients of the TTP El Paso Breast Care Center and how the treatment they received positively impacted their lives. They also enjoyed six rounds of exciting trivia hosted by Geeks Who Drink, an independent company that hosts popular trivia games across the nation.
Bubbles & Brunch would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the Greater El Paso Credit Union (GECU), this year’s Gold Sponsor. The Office of Institutional Advancement would also like to give a special thanks to Flori Flower Studio for their generous contribution of flower arrangements.
