Excitement is building in the Sun City as El Paso Locomotive FC prepares to take the pitch and make a run for the USL Championship.
Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso is making sure the team is healthy and able to perform at the highest level. This year, TTP El Paso physicians and fellows will do it in style thanks to $10,000 in co-branded team merchandise El Paso Locomotive FC has donated to TTP El Paso’s orthopaedic and sports medicine clinics.
TTP El Paso is the official health care provider for El Paso Locomotive FC, with sports medicine and orthopaedic physicians providing athletes a full range of medical services on and off the field.
“The donated co-branded apparel is being proudly worn by our front-line health care heroes who have tirelessly staffed TTP El Paso clinics since the start of the pandemic,” said Andrea Tawney, Ph.D., vice president for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
Dr. Tawney added that El Paso Locomotive FC has been a big supporter of local health care workers. The team has delivered meals to health care heroes at TTP El Paso and University Medical Center of El Paso, which helped keep the workers’ spirits high during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re very proud to work with a great partner in TTP El Paso, and when the idea came up to show our gratitude to local front-line workers by donating team gear, we jumped at the opportunity,” said Andrew Forrest, El Paso Locomotive FC General Manager, Business Operations. “We provided co-branded polos and jackets to those brave men and women helping their community in the fight against COVID-19.”
TTP El Paso sports medicine and orthopaedic physicians will continue providing health care for El Paso Locomotive FC athletes during the team’s 2021 season. This season marks the third of a five-year partnership between TTP El Paso and the professional soccer team.
