Each month, a Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso employee who contributes to the university’s Employee Giving Campaign will be featured. Participating in this campaign sends a powerful message to the community that employees not only work here, but also truly believe in our mission to serve all people through exemplary patient care, education and research. This month’s employee is Hike Briano, lead analyst for the Office of Institutional Advancement.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted many necessities the regional heath care community provides to the public. One of which is the up-to-the-minute communication of vital information via digital channels. Hike Briano, lead analyst for the Office of Institutional Advancement, more commonly known as TTUHSC El Paso Webmaster Guru Extraordinaire, is the gatekeeper for both our academic and Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso websites.
During closed-campus operations, Briano has been working from his home in Ciudad Juárez. For months, he’s worked tirelessly from his home office, burning the midnight oil to keep TTUHSC El Paso’s COVID-19 website up to date, and ensuring the academic and TTP El Paso websites are accurate, user-friendly and functional. His initiative is endless – it’s powered by his love for the job and a desire to showcase the work of all TTUHSC El Paso employees.
“This is my dream job,” said Briano of his work with the Office of Institutional Advancement. “Every day you are presented with a different challenge. You need to constantly better yourself to be able to overcome these challenges.”
Prior to joining TTUHSC El Paso in 2015, Hike worked for Cardinal Health Mexico in Ciudad Juárez. There, he developed a passion for health care and furthered his interest on technology.. It’s a passion that he wants to share with others.
“I give to research initiatives at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences through the Employee Giving Campaign, because I am grateful to be part if this great institution and would like to help others find their passion.
