Four TTUHSC El Paso “Outstanding Women Leaders” Selected for Leadership Texas
Leadership Women, Inc. (LW) has announced several women from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) will join a network of more than 6,000 women as members of the Leadership Texas class of 2016.
Alyssa Cervantes, associate managing director for the office of clinical informatics; Alicia Gacharna, interim clinical department administrator for the department of obstetrics and gynecology and administrator for the department of pediatrics; Jessica Fisher, executive director for business affairs; and Rosie Sanchez, director for clinical information systems/information technology are four of the “90 outstanding women leaders competitively selected from across the state to participate in the longest-running women’s leadership development program in the U.S.,” the organization announced.
Throughout the yearlong program, these participants will have the opportunity to broaden their perspective on our state by exploring various issues in four Texas cities and receiving cutting-edge information from recognized experts, government officials, and other leaders.
“The theme for the 2016 program year is ‘The Future of Community: A State of Possibilities.” Participants will visit San Antonio, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, and Austin, where each city’s opportunities and response to challenges will be highlighted,” noted Linda Crompton, LW’s new CEO.
Leadership Texas, now in its 34th consecutive year, is the flagship program of LW, a nonprofit social enterprise.
Launched in 1983 as the first statewide program for women’s leadership development, Leadership Texas is designed specifically to help women learn about critical issues outside of their own industries and spheres of influence.
