AAMC Board Meeting – I am in Washington, D.C., attending the American Association of Medical Colleges Council of Deans Administrative Board Meeting. One of the items on our agenda revolves around extending the holistic admissions process to graduate medical education programs around the country. We will also receive an update from the National Residency Matching Program. I’ll share details once I return.
Dress Code – Transitioning into temperature appropriate apparel that works well with record-breaking heat can be a challenge in a professional environment. So while choosing what to wear, make sure you understand the guidelines to stay cool and professional this summer. Go to EP Dress Code Policy at http://elpaso.ttuhsc.edu/opp/documents/EP_9_5_Dress_Code_Policy_8-2012.pdf and Non-Clinical Dress Code Policy at http://elpaso.ttuhsc.edu/opp/documents/EP_9.6_Non_Clinical_Dress_Code_Policy_10-2012.pdf for details.
Residency and Fellowship Graduation – Next Friday, June 12, at the Plaza Theatre, 73 TTUHSC at El Paso resident physicians will graduate from one of nine residency programs, which are anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology and surgery. Four more of our physicians will graduate with a fellowship in sports medicine or child and adolescent psychiatry. Learn more about these physicians in the next edition of Tech View.
