The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) celebrated its commencement May 17. The ceremony was held at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (PLFSOM) and was followed by a reception for the graduates, as well their family and friends in attendance. Ten students received their Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, marking the last graduating class from the GSBS as a satellite school of Lubbock. The students presented GSBS Dean Rajkumar Lakshmanaswamy, Ph.D., with a personalized cricket bat as a token of their appreciation. Many students will use their newly acquired M.S. degree to pursue a doctorate of medicine, and if they meet the minimum requirements for admission, are guaranteed an interview with the PLFSOM.
