The senior leaders of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso conducted the first leadership walk-around of 2014 Friday, March 7th. According to staff at the office of the associate dean for clinical affairs, these walk-arounds promote a culture of safety throughout our clinics and provide a one-on-one open dialogue between leadership, employees, and patients to identify current methods that foster a safe environment and to encourage suggestions from staff and faculty on improving patient and employee safety.
Founding Dean Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Jose Manuel de la Rosa, M.D., Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, Frank Stout, and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs Michael Romano, M.D., conducted the walk-around at the Department of Internal
Medicine’s Southwest Endocrine Consultants (SWEC) center at 1201 E. Schuster. Leadership received feedback about the center from patients and staff. Southwest Endocrine Consultants is Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso’s only center to have a fully functional lab.
