Lubbock Newspaper Supports Dental School at TTUHSC El Paso

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal newspaper published an editorial on Sunday, Feb. 24 endorsing the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.

“A new dental school in Texas is long overdue, and placing it in El Paso is the right thing to do,” the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s editorial board wrote.

The dental school will address a severe shortage of dentists and improve access to dental care in West Texas. Pending accreditation and degree program approval, the school is expected to open its doors to its first class of 40 students in 2021.
