On April 22, the Office of Faculty Affairs held the Spring Community Faculty Dinner at the El Paso Club.  Over 50 community and full-time faculty attended the dinner and Continuing Medical Education (CME) presentation on “Teaching the Millennial Student”, presented by Jennifer Molokwu, M.D., assistant professor in the TTUHSC at El Paso Department of Family and Community Medicine.  The Spring Community Faculty Dinner is an opportunity for community faculty serving as preceptors to learn tools on how to interact and teach medical students while earning CME credit. Attendees learned to identify cultural differences regarding the millennial generation, how generational differences affect student expectations and learning, and practical tools for engaging millennial students. Spring lunchThe event provided an opportunity for both volunteer and full-time faculty to network and meet with department chairs, clerkship directors, and course directors.
