Why are you interested in biomedical research?
I’ve seen the benefits of research and it’s great to be doing something that can help future generations.

Where do you see yourself five years after graduation?
I see myself in medical school. I will take some time to take the MCAT and then look for a job related to my masters.

Favorite thing to do in El Paso:
I love to drive up to Scenic Drive and look at El Paso and Juarez at night while I eat pizza from a pizza joint.

What do you do in your downtime?
I love to read books. Some of my favorite books I’ve read have been from authors like Paulo Coelho, Vikas Swarup, and Khaled Hosseini. I enjoy reading in both English and Spanish.

Three words that describe you:
Responsible, driven, and curious.

Something about you that not many people may know:
I despise roaches, especially if they fly.

What made you decide that medicine is the career for you?
I chose to pursue a career in medicine as a result of the poverty and lack of access to health care I saw growing up in the developing world. I knew that I wanted to help people who had limited access to hospitals, medicine, etc.

Where do you see yourself five years after completing your residency graduation?
In five years, I see myself as a hospitalist helping the underserved population and working to increase awareness about disease prevention among these communities.

Favorite thing to do in El Paso:
My favorite thing to do in El Paso is go camping/hiking in the mountains.

What do you do in your downtime?
In my downtime, I walk my dog and exercise.

Three words that describe you:
Passionate, hardworking, and unfortunately very stubborn.

I have traveled to over 30 countries.
