Three Sworn In As Texas Tech Police Officers

OfficersOn Dec 3, the Texas Tech Police Department promoted and swore in three new police officers to the force. The new police officers attended and graduated from the El Paso Community College Law Enforcement Academy. “These three exceptional officers made sacrifices during their time in the academy,” said Lt. Tony Quintela, of the Texas Tech Police Dept.  Officer Michelle Maynez was class valedictorian and is the first female police officer to work on the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso campus.

Lt. Quintela said the new police officers have started their training with a field training officer and will soon be on patrol on campus serving and protecting the campus community. “We wish them the best in their new career field,” he added. The new police officers are: Officer Maynez, Officer Jorge Luis Chavez and Officer Andrew Valdez.
