TTUHSC at El Paso Family Medicine Center Recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Level One Patient Centered Medical Home

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) at El Paso Family Medicine Center at 9849 Kenworthy Street in Northeast El Paso, has recently learned that the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has recognized the Center as a level one Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH).  NCQA recognition as a PCMH is a widely recognized symbol of quality of patient care.

The TTUHSC at El Paso Family Medicine Center has long been recognized for its outstanding access to care (same day and walk-in appointments have been available for more than five years), its superb quality of care, excellent customer service and strong leadership. The board certified family physicians at this site deliver comprehensive, coordinated and integrated primary care services to the El Paso community using a team-based approach incorporating physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other health care providers to deliver high quality cost effective patient-centered care.

Eleven of these board certified family physicians are also recognized as Best Doctors in America (a recognition reserved for only 5% of physicians in each specialty nationwide).  All of them hold salaried faculty appointments within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at TTUHSC at El Paso, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

The Family Medicine Center joins the William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) as an NCQA recognized PCMH in El Paso.

The Center offers acute care services for infants, children, adults, pregnant women and the elderly.  It provides care for those with chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and heart disease. It also provides preventive care including well woman exams, well child exams and annual physicals in addition to screening for breast, cervical, colon, prostate and skin cancer.

The Center is easily accessible from both west and east El Paso via Transmountain Road / Loop 375 and from central El Paso via US 54. The Center takes new patients including those with Medicare, Medicare advantage plans and commercial insurance.  New and existing patients may schedule appointments at 915-215-5500.

The physicians in this practice are part of the Texas Tech Physicians group, the largest multi-specialty group in West Texas.
