The inaugural Spring/Summer 2019 edition of TTUHSC El Paso Alumni & Friends is finally here and it’s packed with stories about students, faculty and alumni who have shaped our university into what it is today.
With our first edition, it’s only fitting that we take a trip back in time and revisit TTUHSC El Paso’s beginnings—check out “The Evolution of TTUHSC El Paso” to learn more about where we started, and where we are now. The work our students and faculty do every day is important to our mission of improving overall health in the community. Read about how leaders from the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing are working to address the health care provider shortage, and see how one professor’s research is helping to uncover new discoveries in Alzheimer’s disease in the Hispanic population.
From the start, TTUHSC El Paso has always placed an importance on philanthropy—that’s why our students are always encouraged to give back to the community through volunteer work. Check out “Helping Hands” to find out more about how our students spend their time volunteering throughout the year—from hours serving at free clinics, to educating youngsters at MedVenture For Your Future.
Finally, get a glimpse at what some of our graduates are up to with alumni profiles that share the stories and accomplishments of former students from the Foster School of Medicine, Hunt School of Nursing and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
We hope you enjoy the first edition of our alumni magazine and encourage you to send your story ideas to our editors at email@example.com. If you’d like to share TTUHSC El Paso Alumni & Friends, an electronic version is available at ttuhscep.edu/magazine.
