The Sun City Chapter Medical Staff Professionals seminar was hosted by Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso Medical Staff Services on October 24. Michael Romano, M.D., associate dean for the Department of Clinical Affairs welcomed members of the Chapter and commended everyone for their hard work and professionalism. This event was well attended by medical staff service professionals from various city hospitals. All attendees were also awarded 1.5 continuing education credits from the National Association Medical Staff Services for the webinar presented at this seminar.
In this webinar, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) assistant director of policy Frank Stelling provided an overview of NCQA’s credentialing standards and introduced recent updates to the standards. Participants gained an understanding of the credentialing process and help their managed care organizations meet these standards.
