On Friday, Oct. 6, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) held its latest session of The Exam Room, a Facebook Live Q&A that invites the community to listen in and pose health questions to faculty physicians.
In recognition of National Dental Hygiene Awareness Month, El Paso dentist Richard Black, D.D.S., M.S., hosted the session. Dr. Black, who has been practicing locally for over 40 years, took questions from viewers about a wide range of topics, including crossing the U.S.-Mexico border for cheaper dental work, dental health myths and facts, and orthodontics.
Viewers also had the opportunity to compete for free TTUHSC El Paso swag by submitting a dental health question during the livestream. Leon Lerma, a former member of the Texas Tech Police Department, won an Under Armour backpack embroidered with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine logo.
