Last month, Ogechika Alozie, M.D., M.P.H., was elected as the chair of the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) e-Health Advisory Committee. Dr. Alozie joined the committee in 2016 and was a key adviser on state initiatives related to health information technology.
In his new role, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) will help set committee agendas and develop strategies for the use of health information technology (HIT) in Medicaid and other HHS programs.
“My role with the committee allows TTUHSC El Paso a window into collaborating and innovating across the state,” Dr. Alozie said.
Dr. Alozie’s three-year appointment began in March. He joined TTUHSC El Paso in 2010.
