On Saturday, Feb. 24, more than 250 El Pasoans attended the eighth annual Students United Para Nuestra Salud (SUNS) Health Fair. The fair, hosted by medical and nursing students from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso), took place at Dolphin Terrace Elementary School and provided free health services to the community.
Among the services offered were free vaccinations; HIV and STI tests; blood pressure, diabetes, dental, eye, glaucoma, and back screenings; and EKG readings, which measure the heart’s electrical activity. The health fair also included a blood drive and free groceries for El Pasoans facing food insecurity.
