The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso celebrated their partnership by holding an open house of the Employee and Family Care Center with Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso.
Located in the Providence Medical Plaza behind Providence Memorial Hospital’s emergency room, the center is a result of the commitment UTEP and TTUHSC El Paso have made to work together to provide high-quality health professions education, research and health care services to the Paso del Norte region.
UTEP employees, retirees and students enrolled in the UT Select Health Insurance plan and their eligible dependents will have priority access to Texas Tech family medicine doctors at the center only a few minutes away from the UTEP campus.
UTEP President Diana Natalicio and Richard Lange, M.D., M.B.A., president of TTUHSC El Paso and dean of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, were on hand to meet with visitors.
During the festivities, guests toured the new facility and met the center’s health care providers: Arthur Islas, M.D.; Jaime Jaraba, M.D.; Justin Wright, M.D. and Stacey Milan, M.D. Free glucose and blood pressure checks were also provided.
Patients also will have access to Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso’s specialist referral network.
The clinic is open to the general public.
