Gay Straight Campus Alliance (GaSCA ) Meeting – Close to 50 faculty, staff, and students attended the first GaSCA meeting of the academic year.  Dr. Oralia Loza from the UTEP College of Health Sciences, Department of Public Health Sciences, presented the risk factors and health outcomes among transgender persons as identified in her study “Transgender Women’s Identity, Sexuality, and Transition”.  In addition, Diamond Briseño provided her perspective as a transgender patient.  This was a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand how we, as health care professionals, can better prepare ourselves to serve our patients. Please read more in this week’s Tech View blog.
