Kathryn Horn, M.D., Appointed Assistant Vice President for TTUHSC El Paso Student Services
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso President Richard Lange recently appointed Kathryn Horn, M.D., assistant vice president for TTUHSC El Paso Student Services, which she assumes while continuing as the associate dean of Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Student Affairs.
In her new role, Dr. Horn will provide integrated services and programs that support student’s academic and professional goals across all three schools – the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences – in order to ensure that services provided are appropriate and equitable. “This position is the product of a growing and vibrant institution and student body,” said Dr. Horn. “I look forward to assuring that all of our students at TTUHSC El Paso receive the services they need to be successful in their academic endeavors and I hope that we can create an atmosphere of inclusion and collegiality so more students will compete to be a part of our great health sciences center.”
As Assistant Vice President for TTUHSC El Paso Student Services, Dr. Horn will supervise and maintain oversight of the Registrar’s Office, Student Services and Financial Aid, while serving as a liaison between administration and student affairs representatives from each school. She will be instrumental in developing and assessing current and future services, programs, products, facilities, procedures and policies for students.
Dr. Horn’s career with TTUHSC El Paso spans almost 26 years. Dr. Horn received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency from TTUHSC El Paso in 1987. After completing her residency, she continued to work in the Department of Family Medicine until 1995; and again beginning in 2000. Dr. Horn is an Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) fellow.
