TTUHSC at El Paso Graduate Medical Education Commencement
Seventy-seven TTUHSC at El Paso resident physicians graduated from one of nine residency programs on June 12. These programs include anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology and surgery. William Beaumont Army Medical Center sponsors an orthopaedic residency program with five graduates, who were also in attendance. And four physicians graduated with a fellowship in sports medicine or child and adolescent psychiatry. Resident/fellows are medical school graduates who train in a specialty for a period of one to five years. The charge to the residents was given by Paul L. Foster School of Medicine Founding Dean Jose Manuel de la Rosa, M.D., and Sandra Vexler, M.D., from the Department of Psychiatry, gave the residents’ response.
